Our B team were out in the cup semi final today away against Wexford Celtic. The boys had to deal with the extreme heat but that never put the boys eye. Wexford Celtic started the stronger playing a long ball over the top however the Bunclody defence dealt with the threat easily. Bunclody then started to turn the handle and started to threaten, the Celtic defence. It was the continued pressure and good play from Bunclody that lead to the ball being played out to Adam Harte on the right hand side. Adam took a shot and a few seconds of confusion say the referee give the goal. It looked from the sideline that it went through the side net however Adam peeled away celebrating and Referee Mark Hogan pointed for a Bunclody goal. Bunclody were now in command of the game. Again a good bit of Bunclody play seen the say the ball end up through on goal he didn’t have to be asked again and calmly slotted home past the Celtic keeper. Half time came and the boys were well on top however Celtic always threatened with the ball over the top even though Bunclody had the measure of it. The boys went back out with the same mentality that they ended the second half with. Again, some good play around the middle with Joe Finn seen the ball switched out to Conor Thorpe who was working well with Adam Harte down the right. That Movement seen the ball crossed into the box, Milo McCarthy continued his run through the middle and headed for his first Bunclody goal. The heat was immense and it was shown in both teams with Celtic making 5 subs before the second water break. With 3 minutes to go a long ball over the top saw Bunclody Keeper come but the striker got a touch first and put the ball in the net. The game finished 3-1 with Bunclody dominating the game.
