an excellent display of football put out B Team into the last 4 in the Summer Sheild Competition. Bunclody took the trip down to Kilmuckridge for their Quarter Final in the WFL shield. Bunclody got off to a slow start, moving the ball slowly and a few individual mistakes had the lads a little off the pace. Now the weather conditions didn't help as it was lashing rain for the duration of the match. A turnover of ball from a Bunclody piece of possession was switched out to the left hand side in-between the Steven Kavanagh and Conor Thorpe the on rushing St Josephs player calmly slotted away. The lads didn't let this effect them and slowly but surly found their feet they kept to the game plan spreading the ball around the park and creating chances. A good ball worked from Pirlo down to Jack Finn seen the ball crossed into the box for Jack's brother Joe however he blasted over the ball. This seemed to be the catalyst for Bunclody as they kept on turning the screw and about 15 minutes before half time an excellent Bunclody move created by Jamie Wilson and Gary Cowman led to a hand ball in the Jospeh's penalty box. Gareth Larkin pointed to the spot and up stepped John McCormack. John slotted to the keepers left to which the keeper got a hand on it but the power of the shot pulled the ball through. A Few minutes later another well worked ball from a Bunclody kickout seen the ball worked through the middle and then out wide to Jack Finn who set up Paddy Kavanagh cutting in from the left and bet the keeper on his near post. Going into the second half Bunclody wanted to start where they left off, and that they did. The introduction of Milo McCarthy to the right wing changed the game really and St Jospehs couldn't get to handle with his speed and determination to beat the defender, both Milo and Conor Thorpe had the beating of St Jospehs down the wing each time and it was that partnership that lead to a great cross and a clearance that lead to a Bunclody corner. The ball was swung in and was kicked around for a bit before Bunclody captain Gary Cowman stepped up and put it to the back of the Joseph's net. Bunclody were well on top and this stage. Bunclody introduced Dinny Corcoran with 25 minutes to go and he and Joe Finn worked well down the left and Dinny found himself getting through a bit and varied it up with shots that were either well saved by the St Jospehs keeper or went narrowly wide. This puts Bunclody in the Semi Finals now of the summer league.
