Both on Sunday and Tuesday our mens teams had their first outings of the season. It was great to see them in such good spirits and playing some excellent football.
On Sunday a mixture of our 1st and 2nd team played St Josephs of Carlow. It was a 5-5 draw with some excellent team play from both teams on show. It was both teams first outing and not to much should be taken from the score line but none the less it was a great overall performance by both home teams.
Today our A team played premier division side Shamrock Rovers now under the stewardship of ex Bunclody Manager Willie Peare. Bunclody were the better of the two sides and had more clear cut chances throughout the game however the failed to capitalise on these chances. Shamrocks showed some excellent football but Bunclody were able to deal with the threat and managed to come away with a 0-0 draw. Manager Nick Finn said " it was a good performance for the boy's, if we take that performance and bring it into the summer tournament I have no doubt we can go far".
Both our first and second team are in action at home this weekend.
Our first team are at home to Camolin Celtic @11am while
Our Second team are at home to Ferns United @ 2pm, however this could be changed before the weekend.
